From the Preface: "The marriage records of Bastrop County, Texas, begin in May 1851. Volume 1 contains those records up through part of 1881. The second volume covers parts of 1881 up through 1900. We took the information from original volumes D, E, F, G, and part of H from the Bastrop County Courthouse."

These books give the name of the bride, the groom, and the date of their marriage in hopes of providing valuable aid to the historian and genealogist.
